At Carlos V Education, we believe that the best way to learn a language is to immerse yourself in its culture, and there’s no better way to do this than through food. One of our most appreciated activities, both by students and teacher groups, is our Spanish cooking workshop, where culinary art becomes a bridge to learning Spanish.
Under the guidance of our chef and teacher Pablo, participants not only discover the secrets of our famous cuisine but also practice their language skills. The entire process is designed to immerse attendees in the language in a natural and fun way.
Flavors that teach
During the workshop, Pablo prepares some of Spain’s most iconic recipes with the participants, such as salmorejo, Spanish omelette, and, of course, paella. With his friendliness and expertise, he breaks down each step, explaining in detail the techniques and secrets to achieving the perfect paella. Participants not only observe but also actively engage, whether it’s chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, or helping in the kitchen like true kitchen assistants.
A class that tastes good
At the end of the class, the most anticipated moment arrives: the tasting. The group sits down to enjoy the paella they’ve prepared, accompanied by drinks and great conversation. This moment not only reinforces the vocabulary learned but also creates a warm and relaxed atmosphere where Spanish flows naturally.
Cooking as a cultural pillar
Teaching Spanish through cooking is a pleasure for us, as we are deeply proud of our cuisine and consider it a fundamental pillar of Spanish culture.
In our Spanish programs in Spain, this activity is one of the most cherished and memorable. If you’re looking for an immersive learning experience that combines culture, fun, and, of course, delicious food, look no further!
