At Carlos V Education, we believe Spanish is not only learned: it is lived, created, and shared. That is why this academic year we have taken a very special step by holding the 1st Carlos V Spanish Competition, under the title “Memories of an Anniversary”.
This first edition was created with a clear purpose: to encourage interest in the Spanish language and to recognise students’ effort, creativity, and talent through a variety of expressive formats.
An edition full of ideas, emotion, and outstanding quality
Throughout the competition, we received more than 140 entries from over 10 different countries. This confirms something that truly excites us: Spanish continues to be a language that connects cultures, generations, and stories on a global scale.
The theme — the 500th anniversary of the wedding of Charles V and Isabella of Portugal — inspired a wide range of proposals, with personal, historical, symbolic, and narrative approaches. The entries reflected not only strong language skills, but also the sensitivity and creative thinking of all participants.
Competition categories
The submitted works were organised into the following categories:
Posters
Micro-stories
Short stories
Podcasts
Each category allowed participants to explore Spanish from different perspectives: visual creativity, short-form writing, longer narrative pieces, and oral communication.
The jury: a key part of the competition
Once the submission phase was completed, the next step is one of the most important: evaluation.
For this reason, at Carlos V Education we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the individuals who will be part of the competition jury. Their experience and judgement will be essential to ensuring the quality and fairness of the process.
The jury deliberation meeting will take place on 24 February, and the winners will be announced on 11 March. On that date, the winners in each category will be revealed and the most outstanding work of this first edition will be officially recognised.

In addition to academic and creative recognition, this first edition includes prizes designed to continue encouraging learning, cultural experience, and a strong connection with Seville.

Thank you for making this first competition possible
At Carlos V Education, we would like to congratulate all participants for the excellent level demonstrated and for turning this first edition into a truly memorable experience.
We also extend our thanks to everyone who supported the students throughout the process, and to all those who have contributed to making this project possible.
This competition has been created with a long-term vision: our goal is for the Carlos V Spanish Competition to become an annual event where Spanish is celebrated for what it truly is — a language full of history, creativity, and future.
