Cultural Course: Generation of ’27

A literary programme created for Spanish‑literature readers, inviting them to explore the streets, squares and gardens that marked the life and work of Salinas, Aleixandre, Alberti and Lorca.

The Generation of ’27 was a group of poets who transformed Spanish literature by bringing together avant‑garde innovation and classical tradition. Their presentation as a collective took place in 1927 at the Ateneo de Sevilla, during a tribute to Luis de Góngora on the third centenary of his death. That gathering sparked a lasting friendship and a shared poetic project that was interrupted only a few years later by the Spanish Civil War.

A cultural course, a journey through history

The year 2027 marks the centenary of the tribute at the Ateneo de Sevilla that gave the group its name. Carlos V Education proposes a cultural itinerary through Seville, Cádiz and Granada—cities closely linked to the birth, formation and literary creation of these authors—to celebrate one of the most brilliant moments in Spanish literature in the very places where it unfolded.
